Make the difference






Sometimes we go through life thinking that we aren't important, don't make a difference.


But the truth is that everything that we do and say makes a difference to somebody, be that in a positive or negative way.

Instead of sitting and wondering if doing an action will make any difference, we should go ahead and do it anyway with the best of intentions.

Our positive actions will be felt and will make a difference both to ourselves and others.

So instead of thinking, start doing, start making those differences today.

Limitless opportunity


Our lives hold limitless opportunity. Every little choice that we make changes and sculpts our lives into something unique and special.

Each new day holds it's own opportunities from the small to the monumentally large. How we use these choices is down to us.

Life is so precious, so special. We should use these opportunities to add to the rich diversity of daily life, to reach and and experience the excitement and wonder of it.

Grab these opportunities, use them to grow and to experience life to it's fullest. But most importantly, enjoy them.

Joy ripples



Have you ever just woken up in the morning and felt happy for absolutely no reason?

It's like a feeling that something exciting and wonderful is about to happen, but you just don't know what it is.

That's how I felt when I woke up this morning. There's no reason, I just felt happy.

And that happiness is rubbing off on everyone that I meet.

I rushed up to my children this morning and gave them a big hug and kiss. They giggled and smiled.

My daughter's friend came in and she hugged and kissed him because I had made her happy, and he in turn smiled and felt happy.

Joy spreads like ripples in a pond, it radiates outwards, touching more and more people as it goes, spreading far and wide from it's small beginnings.

So how about going out and about and spreading a few joy ripples of your own.

You'll be glad that you did.

Push yourself

In order to learn and progress in life, you need to get up and do something.

If we wait for things to be handed to us, don't take responsibility for our life, then we will get nowhere.

In order to progress, we need to push ourselves.

If we never push ourselves out of our comfort zone, then we can not expect to learn and grow in our life.

By pushing and trying, we will inevitably fail at some point, but even then, we are still learning from our mistakes, still moving forward.

So try, grow, learn and make both yourself and your life into the best that it can possibly be.

Wash away negative energy



We probably all know someone who seems to sap us of all happiness and energy - a bit like the dementors in the Harry Potter films.

Every positive thing that you say is torn apart, replaced by negative thoughts.

As soon as they walk into a room, it is though they bring a tidal wave of blackness with them.

This negative energy can hang around us, sticking to us, poisoning our days, making us unhappy and negative, both to ourselves and those around us.

There is a simple thing to try, that works for me, to literally wash away that nasty energy.

When I have a shower, I close my eyes and imagine that the warm water is washing away all of those horrible thoughts and feelings.

In my mind's eye, I see it washing away down the plughole, gone forever.

I then see the water replacing it with positivity and happiness.

The mind is a powerful thing, and this simple visualization is an easy way to 'cleanse' both your mind and body.

And if it doesn't work for you, then at least you are clean on the outside and relaxed after a nice warm shower.

Make the most of today



Each day is different, and each day brings it's own unique possibilities.

Sometimes our plans for the day are not possible.

Maybe the weather is not as we had hoped, or some other unforeseen event has occurred which makes today's plans difficult or impossible to achieve.

But just because we can't do what we had planned to, it doesn't mean that the day is wasted.
There is always something different that can be done.

For example, if you had planned to go out for the day, but can't, it is an ideal chance to get things done around the house - maybe those things that you never seem to get around to normally.

So whatever you have planned for today, make the most of it today, and every day.

Imagine your dreams



The human brain is a very powerful thing. It finds it difficult to tell the difference between what we imagine and what we are actually doing.

By using our imagination, we are priming our brain to be in a positive place. We will feel what it is like to succeed, feel what it is like to attain our dreams and goals through our imagination.

And in turn, because we have told our brain this is what it feels like to do an activity, to succeed, because we have had a dry run through imagination, we are more likely to succeed when it comes to the real thing.

But, if we imagine ourselves failing, worry about failing, we will prime ourselves to fail, because we have told our brain that we will not succeed easily if at all.

So make sure to always think about things positively, imagine yourself flying and succeeding. Prime yourself to succeed rather than to fail.

See the fun




As we go through our lives, we can sometimes forget to take the time to enjoy ourselves along the way.

There are many things that we all need to do each day: working, paying bills, looking after our family and home, but we should also remember to find the time for some fun, some time out.

If we work and never have fun, both our mind and our body will become tired and less efficient.

We all need to take a break sometimes, even if that means scheduling it into our busy calendars.

Fun and rest time is just as important to our well being and lives as work.

It will relax us, clear our mind, so that we are ready to return to work with a better, more positive mindset and a body that is rested.

This time of fun can be just a few minutes out of our busy day, or a longer time away.

As long as it allows us to recharge our batteries, then it has done it's job.

So what are you waiting for? Take some time to just enjoy life and have some fun.

Don't cheat!


When we see an easy way to do something by cheating, should we? What do we gain from cheating.

There is a satisfaction gained from completing our goals in life, in working and learning in order to succeed.

But if we cheat to get easy results, then we will not feel the same accomplishment.

Yes, we will have gotten what we wanted with little effort, but at what cost?

Will we have hurt somebody else along the way? Will we have stopped somebody else from achieving their own goals? Will we have stolen the hard work of somebody else?

Cheating never comes without a cost to somebody, somewhere.

It is much better to take the time to achieve your goals through hard work and application.

Not only will you experience a deep sense of happiness and achievement when you succeed, but you will also learn and grow along the way.

Happy New Year


Here we are, at the start of yet another year. The last one seemed to speed by and I dare say that this one will do the same.

Today is a good day to take stock of our lives, to look back, to evaluate what has happened to us over the past year.

If things did not go the way that we had planned last year, then we can formulate a plan to try and improve and have a happier and  more prosperous year this time around.

If things went well, we can look back with pride and look forward to trying to make this year as good, if not better than the one that went before.

Today could be the start of something wonderful, a brand new chapter in your very special life.
